Steve Godby

Steve was raised in Bryan and attended Bryan High School, graduating in 1973. He attended Texas A&M received his BS degree in Engineering Technology Industrial Safety and Fire Protection. He graduated from Texas A&M in December, 1977 and was hired by Phillips Petroleum Company. He worked with Phillips for 34 years, as a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager for Phillip’s Upstream, Downstream, Midstream and Corporate groups. During his time at Phillips, his family and Steve moved a total of 13 times for various assignments. 

After retiring from Phillips, Steve began to pursue his true passion; missions. He worked briefly for Rebuilding Together Houston and served 2 years as Associate Missions Director at Grace Fellowship United Methodist Church in Katy, Texas. 

 

In 2013, Steve and his wife, Janis, moved to College Station and Steve began work on building a non-profit service organization, in Brazos County, aimed at addressing the needs of low-income disabled, elderly and military veteran homeowners, at no cost to the homeowner. 

 

Steve is currently Executive Director of Rebuilding Together Bryan/College Station. Steve also founded and leads the Brazos County Home Repair Coalition. In addition, Steve currently serves as Missions Director at Christ United Methodist Church in College Station and serves as a Fire Commissioner / Treasurer at the Brazos County Emergency Services District #4 in Bryan. 

 

Along with Steve’s wife, Janis, they have three married kids; daughters; Sarah & Jessy and son; Clint.
