Author of "The Road to San Jacinto"

Dave Dyer, a Houston-based writer who earlier this year had a book published called "The Road to San Jacinto." It traces the journey of Sam Houston's army from Gonzalez to San Jacinto in March and April of 1836, culminating in the Battle of San Jacinto that won the Texas Revolution from Mexico. Dave's approach was to visit each of the army's campsites and describe the physical evidence that we see today. His goal was to stimulate an interest in Texas history by making it easier for people to take day trips to re-live the journey.
