Father Brian Eilers; Priest from St Joseph
Christmas program

Fr. Brian Eilers was ordained a priest for the diocese of Austin in 2004.  He grew up in the small town of Fredericksburg, TX, the oldest of 5 children and in the midst of a large extended family.  Here his faith was nurtured, especially through the example of his parents and grandparents.  He attended Texas A&M studying psychology and philosophy and became active in the campus ministry at St. Mary’s Catholic Center.  In this dynamic faith environment, he discerned a vocation to the priesthood which matured through many leadership experiences, including a year away from school serving on the National Evangelization Teams (NET), a team that travels the U.S. putting on youth retreats.  He completed his seminary formation at the Josephinum in Columbus, OH.  After being ordained a priest in June 2004, he served as parochial vicar at St. Theresa parish community in Austin for 3 years and at St. Luke in Temple for 2 years.  Then he served 4 years as the director of campus ministry at Texas State University where he worked with FOCUS and Saint Paul’s Outreach (SPO) to strengthen the evangelical Catholic environment.  In 2013 he joined the formation faculty of St. Mary’s Seminary as a formation director.  After 6 years he returned to the Diocese of Austin in July 2019 to serve as Pastor of St. Patrick’s in Hutto. In March 2021 he came to Bryan to serve as Pastor of St. Joseph, the mother Church of Brazos County which celebrates 150 years in 2023.
