BRIDGING THE GAP IN PATIENT-CENTERED CARE
No longer are nurses tied to bedside care. Nurses play a vital role in the overall health and wellness of communities, especially those patients who that have limited access to primary care providers. Serving urban, rural and underserved populations, Aggie nurses take health care to the patient.
Sarah Dailey is Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2011 and BSN-RN. Sarah says, "I am a single mom to an amazing two-year-old daughter named Emma Kate. I have two dogs named Lilly & Finn. I grew up in Dallas. But Aggieland always felt more like “Home”. I am a second-generation Aggie. I graduated A&M with my Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health in 2011. I received my Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) at Tyler Junior College (TJC) in 2015. I started my Nursing career on an Oncology unit at a hospital in Tyler, Texas. In 2016 I moved back to the Brazos County and started working at the Baylor Scott & White (BS&W) Hospital in Brenham on a Medical Surgical floor. In 2017 I transferred to the Medical-Surgical unit at the BS&W hospital in College Station. I graduated in 2019, with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Texas in Arlington (UTA). In 2018, I was able to fulfill a goal of mine and transfer to the Couplet Care/Postpartum unit at the BS&W hospital in College Station. I worked on this unit for 4 out of my 7.5 years as a Registered Nurse, gaining a lot of knowledge and experience working with mothers and their newborns."
