Becky Mason - 5910 District Governor 2020-2021
Rotary Opens Opportunities!
Becky Mason is serving as the District Governor for D5910 for 2020-2021 and is a member of the Rotary Club of Beaumont.

A graduate of Lamar University with a degree in elementary education, her career began by teaching first grade. While she took a break from paid work to raise their children, she was heavily involved in their schools and many community organizations. When Becky resumed her paid career, she focused on education in a different arena - construction safety and training - for the family business.  Mason Construction Ltd., along with other companies working in the petrochemical industry, was experiencing a new emphasis on health and safety.  Becky’s education background was extremely helpful as she developed an award-winning safety and training program for Mason’s employees.  She retired from Mason Construction in 2012 as her year as Centennial President of the Beaumont Rotary Club was beginning and grandchildren began arriving in the family.

Becky’s commitment to the community has spanned decades. A few of the organizations she has led include Junior League, Young Audiences, Symphony League, Symphony of Southeast Texas Board of Trustees, and the Rotary Club of Beaumont during its centennial year.  Building a barrier-free playground as the club’s centennial gift to the families of Southeast Texas was a highlight of her year as president. Becky and Chuck are both graduates of Lamar University in Beaumont and have supported the university through service on the Alumni Board, the Lamar University Foundation, and The School of Fine Arts and Communications.  In 2017, Becky and Chuck each individually received the award of Outstanding Alumni.  They were the first couple to ever receive this award.

Becky enjoys Rotary at all levels…club, district, zone, and international.  She served as Chuck’s Chief of Staff during his governor year, assistant governor for three years, District Trainer for 2018-19, and will be Governor in 2020-21.  On the Zone level, she produced promotional emails for several Zone Institutes. Becky and Chuck agree that Rotary has enriched their lives through lasting friendships, the opportunity to collaborate with others to improve our community and our world, and the joy of sharing the spirit of service above self with like minded people. In 2017, Becky and Chuck’s ongoing support of The Rotary Foundation earned their induction into Rotary’s esteemed Arch Klumph Society.
