German prisoners-of-war held in the U.S.

Arnold Krammer is a scholar of German and United States history and retired professor at Texas A&M University. He was twice a Fulbright scholar in Germany and is among a select handful of TAMU professors to win two Distinguished Achievement Awards. Krammer was educated at the University of Wisconsin for his Bachelor of Science in history and chemistry, a Master of Arts in German history and Russian studies, and a Ph.D. in German history. He also studied at the University of Vienna in Austria. He has authored seven books; his most book, titled "War Crimes, Genocide, and the Law: Historical Perspective," was published in 2009.

PROF. ARNOLD KRAMMER
Arnold Krammer has been a professor of history at Texas A&M
University for forty-one years. Originally from Chicago,
Krammer was educated at the University of Wisconsin at
Madison and the University of Vienna, Austria.
Prof. Krammer has written a number of books and articles about
World War I and II, the Spanish Civil War, and the DDR,
including The Forgotten Friendship, Nazi Prisoners of War in
America, Hitler's Last Soldier in America(which was the
Reader's DigestCondensed Book in June 1986), Undue Process,
Children and the Holocaust, as well as two books in German,
and several dozen articles. He is currently completing a book
entitled Intolerance in America During W.W. II. He was the
recipient of the Former Student’s Association’s Distinguished
Teaching Award twice (1989, 1999), and the President Bush
Annual Teaching Excellence Award in 2006.
