Crystal Carter, Director, African American Museum
The Importance of Cultural Museums within the Community

Mrs. Carter comes to the museum with a background in engineering, education, administration, and marketing. Professionally, she worked as an engineer with the Environmental Protection Agency before serving nine years as an Instructor and Program Coordinator at Florida A&M University and Program Coordinator at Texas A&M in the CMD-IT Program. She’s the owner of C2 Web Solution and her company has contracted for several years with the City of College Station to teach web design and video game design classes at the Lincoln Center. Crystal is originally from North Carolina and received a B.S. from N.C. A&T State University, a M.S. from the University of Kentucky, and a M.Ed. from West Texas A&M University. A little known black history fact, Crystal was the first African American to earn a M.S. degree in Biological & Agricultural Engineering from the University of Kentucky in 1998. Mrs. Carter joined the Brazos Valley African American Museum as the Director in May 2017.
